The Domestic Church: Marriage and Families
The Diocesan Pastoral Council, Marriage and Domestic Church working group is eager to assist parishes to enhance all aspects of the Church, especially families and couples. In this vein, our working group is committed to assisting, where possible, a deeper understanding of Christian marriage, enhanced preparation for weddings and ongoing formation and support for married couples across the Diocese.
Over the past two years, our working group has been assisting and trialling the implementation of ‘The Marriage Course’ to parishes and schools. This program is based on a shared meal for couples with video input and discussion and, where possible, babysitting is provided. To date, this has been a great success.
This program is available for your parish. The DPC Working Group for the Domestic Church - Marriage and Families encourages parishes to consider the Marriage Enrichement Program and to look at how this could be a wonderful outreach to those in your parish and school community. The working group will provide support and assistance if your parish wishes to explore this model of parish enrichment.
An example of a promotional flyer is available HERE. It could shared in your parish’s bulletin or through school newsletters. The artwork will be updated with your parish dates and details by providing the information to Deacon Josh Clayton via email ministries@bathurst.catholic.org.au
If you would like further information or assistance in implementation in your parish, please contact Deacon Josh on 0458 261 513.
