COVID UPDATE - 8th NOVEMBER 2021

1) The number of people allowed in churches is now subject to the one person per two square metre density limit. 

2) Singing is allowed for fully vaccinated people.

3) Masks must continue to be worn inside.

4) Weddings are permitted with numbers uncapped, but now subject to the one person per two square metre density limit. Numbers for weddings drop to 11 people if anyone unvaccinated attends. MORE>

5) Funerals are permitted with numbers uncapped, but now subject to the one person per two square metre density limit. Numbers for funerals drop to 10 people (not including those conducting the funeral) if anyone unvaccinated attends. MORE>

6) All people may attend a place of worship, regardless of vaccination status.

7) QR code or manual register must continue to be used.

 It is critical that everyone continues to practise COVID-safe behaviours, including social distancing, staying home if unwell and getting tested if suffering from the mildest of symptoms.  

The dispensation issued by Bishop Michael McKenna last year in relation to our Sunday obligations is still in effect.  

Density capacities at 1 person per 2sqm in the Cowra parish are:

  • St Raphael’s Church, Cowra: 280 people
  • St Edward’s Church, Canowindra: 160 people
  • St John the Baptist Church, Eugowra: 70 people
  • St Malachy’s, Church Gooloogong: 140 people
  • St Brigid’s Woodstock: 100 people
  • St Vincent's, Wyangla: 100 people
