Our role

The paper is a channel of communication for Bishop Michael McKenna to those in his pastoral care.

Also acting as a means of communication for the parishes within our widespread Diocese, we try to carry Christ's work forward by relaying the simple, but wonderful, happenings in every-day Catholic life.

Believing the "news and views" of our entire Diocesan family are equally important, we encourage centres, large and small, to "tell their story" in words - even, sometimes, just with a picture.

We try to keep readers informed about the universal Church and to integrate an element of education through regular columns, written by a dedicated group of contributors with a wealth of expertise in their particular fields.

Columns cover matters such as Liturgy, Adult Faith Education, Special Religious Education, Social Justice, Youth, Ecumenism, Liturgy etc. and set out current situations and opinions. Through them, readers are often offered a totally new perspective on important issues - not just given facts, but rather a real Christian/Catholic insiight into matters.
