A message from Bishop McKenna on Child Protection Sunday ~ 8 September 2019

Dear Friends in Christ,

As we make our annual observance of Child Protection Sunday, may I say a word of thanks to the people in our Diocese who work on our Safeguarding programs?

Also to those who give freely of their time to work in various aspects of the Church’s mission; and who participate in the training we organise to keep our children safe.

Once again, I ask everyone in our Diocese to become sensitive and compassionate to our sisters and brothers among us who have suffered abuse in the past.

We cannot change the past, but we can attend to our attitudes and practices today, for a better tomorrow.
