Centacare Sunday - 21st September 2014

For the past 11 years, our Diocese has set aside a weekend in September to celebrate the work and mission of Centacare. This Sunday, 21st September, has been designated as Centacare Sunday. You are invited to be part of Centacare’s mission. Any donation, no matter how small, goes directly to supporting people in need in our community with donations over $2 being tax deductible. You can post your donation to Centacare, PO Box 1215, Bathurst  NSW  2795 or you can phone 02 6331 8944 or email the Director, Robert George - (remove XX) robert XX @bathurst XX .catholic.org.au.

Imbued with the spirit of the Gospel "I have come so that you may have life and have it to the full", the work of Centacare is the expression of the works of Catholics in our Diocese

The Church calls upon all of us, as a baptised community, to promote a more perfect life and to be involved in works of charity.

As a Catholic organisation, Centacare’s mission is to help individuals, children, couples, families, and communities to live in harmony and in the spirit of Christian love. Centacare promotes family values, the dignity of each person and supports people to live their lives to their full potential.

Centacare assists people to uphold the goodness, dignity and value of families and marriage. Centacare plays a significant role in strengthening the domestic church and in supporting the vulnerable and disadvantaged communities in the Diocese, particularly members of the Indigenous community.

In the past 12 months, Centacare has assisted more than 3,000 people through counselling and family relationship programmes. Over 2,000 Indigenous people have been assisted with their needs such as housing, welfare, education, employment, and health.

Centacare is reaching out to all the schools within the Diocese offering services to strengthen the school communities.

Centacare receives most of its funding from government but the generosity of parishioners, who want to put into practice Jesus’ teaching of helping the poor and needy, help us to reach out to more.

Centacare seeks your prayers and thanks you for your support in assisting us to continue to provide the much needed services we offer.
