Rebuilding our Church - Lithgow Parish Community

Following our Diocesan Assembly weekend, and as a response to the request from Bishop Michael McKenna to rebuild our church, a small prayer group was formed to start the process of improving links between Lithgow Parish and the school community.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit Rado Marjanac, a member of the parish of St Patrick and St Francis Xavier, approached the parish council with an idea. That idea was to engage a motivational speaker from Queensland, Robert Falzon, who started up Men Alive men’s weekends.  Rado organised the event and did a lot of behind the scenes leg work which made it a great success.

Robert spoke at La Salle Academy and to our parish community in St Patrick’s Primary School’s hall on 5th Sept.  He also spoke at a men's breakfast in Lithgow on 6th Sept. Approximately 25 men listened to his life’s journey and how Jesus was the centre of it.

We hope that Robert’s talks to our local community will encourage more people to take on active roles and assist with the rebuilding process, building greater links with our schools and local catholic community, going out to do our Lord’s work in the world.
