Christmas Art Exhibition 2013
Many young artists, captivated by the spirit of Christmas, await the judges' decisions on the Diocesan winners of the 2013 Christmas Story Art Competition.
Y5 and Y6 students from Catholic schools across the Diocese have submitted amazing artworks for the 'The Christmas Story' Art Exhibition and Competition which captures the students' imaginative interpretation of Christmas. The exhibition, which displays the best Christmas artworks from every Y5 and Y6 student in the diocese, will showcase about 60 artworks.
Students have used a wide range of media to execute their artistic and authentic imagery in their illustration of the Christmas story. The theme was drawn from the Diocesan Religious Education Curriculum and required the students to reflect on a number of Gospel verses from Matthew and Luke.
Bishop McKenna will select the Bishop’s prize. Other winners will progress to compete with students from Sydney and Wollongong in the Christmas Story Art Competition in December.
The exhibited artworks, including the winning artworks, can be viewed at the Girra Girra Hall at St Philomena’s School, Bathurst until 20th September 2013 from 10.00am - 3.00pm.
