Karl Sinclair to be instituted as Lector

On 29th September 2013, at 10.00am Mass in the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. John, Bishop McKenna will institute Karl Sinclair to the Ministry of Lector.

Karl is currently a seminarian for the Diocese of Bathurst, studying at the Seminary of the Good Shepherd in Sydney.

Lectors take on a special office within the Church and are called to be servants of the living word of God. In proclaiming the readings, the Lector does more than simply read. A lector’s spirituality must include an understanding of Holy Scripture as God’s word made present to humankind throughout history, but most fully present in the person of Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh.

Please keep Karl in your prayers as he takes this important step in his formation for the priesthood.
