Vespers at The Mount
Bishop Michael McKenna attended Vespers on 14th April in the Chapel at St. Joseph's Mount, Bathurst.
The Vespers were an expression of the Covenant between the Anglican and Catholic Diocese of Bathurst. Praying together is a very easy and acceptable way for Christians to be together. The general intention for the prayer was peace on the Korean Peninsula and in Syria. There were more than 70 people in attendance.
Anglican Bishop Emeritus Richard Hurford and the Dean of All Saints Cathedral, Anne Wenzel were also present. Bishop Ian Palmer was unfortunately unable to attend.
After Vespers, everyone enjoyed the fellowship and community with a sumptuous supper prepared by Palestine chef Radwan.
The Dean of All Saints Cathedral has invited all Catholics and Uniting Church members to join the Anglican Cathedral Parish for Vespers on Pentecost Sunday. It should be another inspiring time of prayer and praise and details will be circulated from the Anglican Church Office in the near future.
